Acceptable use
Last updated 3 November 2026.
- Audit public sites. You do not need to own a site to audit it. Sitewalk reads only what a search engine can read, and it obeys robots.txt. Do not audit a site whose owner has asked you not to.
- Do not try to reach private, internal or non-web addresses. Only ports 80 and 443 are crawled.
- Do not use Sitewalk to attack, overload or probe a site, or to collect personal data from pages.
- Do not try to avoid limits, for example by opening many accounts, or break sign-in or the site.
- Site owners can opt out by blocking SitewalkBot in robots.txt, or by writing to us; Sitewalk honours both.
We can limit or stop an account that breaks these rules. Report abuse, or ask to be excluded from crawling, at sitewalk@
